Teachers have thought of many creative ways to incorporate the technology – which is a key part of students’ lives — into their classroom lessons about 9/11. One teacher utilized videoconferencing to bring a 9/11 family member and a first responder to dialogue with her students.
Another teacher working with students in a math and science middle school introduced the idea of design thinking to spark their imaginations. He helped them to design an App that would record parents’ talking to their children about 9/11 and then save those conversations in a public museum dedicated to preserving our cultural history. These technologies are multi-disciplinary and could be utilized for virtually any classroom or subject.
