Role of Intelligence in U.S. Government
How specifically did the US government respond to 9/11? A teacher looks at the influence of Intelligence agencies on the decisions the president makes in foreign policy, drawing on the many CIA documents have been declassified in the years since 9/11.
Students read and connect with a graphic novel adaptation of the 9/11 Commission Report to better understand the event and the results of the subsequent investigation. Through helping students to learn how our government functions and the issues with which it is concerned, teachers can encourage young people to become responsible, informed and participatory citizens in our democracy.
